Fewer, Better Things

Katto is a premium kitchenware product design brand known for craftsmanship, performance, and timeless aesthetics. We worked with the Katto team to design a cohesive range including knives, chopping boards, garlic crushers, a honing rod and many more - establishing a unified design language and elevating their product portfolio.

Our approach focused on material quality, sustainability through UK sourcing, and meaningful innovation - most notably the creation of Katto’s Equipoise™ technology for knife balance. The result is a family of award-winning products that blend form and function, showcasing precision, beauty, and long-term durability.

The challenge

Katto set out to redefine everyday kitchen tools - creating products that felt premium, performed flawlessly, and lasted a lifetime. But the category is crowded, and many competitors rely on generic components, offshore sourcing, or trend-led aesthetics.

The challenge was to design a distinctive range from the ground up while establishing a design language that could scale across future products, and reinforce Katto’s identity as a premium British kitchenware product design brand.

From ideas to manufacture

We partnered with Katto from the very first sketch through to production, acting as a true end-to-end design partner. Our team led the entire development process, from defining product strategy, to generating concepts and engineering for manufacture.

We sourced and worked with UK based manufacturers to bring the products to life, ensuring the highest standards in materials, finish, and workmanship.

Alongside product development, we also delivered packaging design and production support -helping Katto define a strong and consistent visual brand language across the entire customer journey.

Responsibly designed, sustainably made

From the outset, sustainability was central to the design brief. We focused on UK-sourced materials and components built for longevity, not obsolescence. Each product was designed with minimalism and durability in mind, using FSC-certified wood, and carefully selected finishes to reduce environmental impact.

By working closely with UK manufacturing partners, we kept supply chains short and accountable - supporting local industry while ensuring quality control. The result is a range of kitchen tools that are as responsible as they are refined.
